What can one say? This is another stunning piece of perfection by the Fab Four. Every one of the tracks on this CD are absolute "classics." I''ve yet to find any Beatles song that didn''t set the high water mark that everyone else has to try to reach. That task is impossible. This band is simply the best musical group of any kind to grace this Earth, IMHO. And they''re not even my number one band. Brilliance such as this only occurs rarely. Lyrically these guys were unmatched. Add the musical element and you have, as I stated, perfection.

The remastering job done here is very good.

It really deserves 5 stars. The reason for 4 stars is because of the amount of time it takes to load in my SONY DVD PLAYER and it can be tricky to get Track 4 to play. The best songs are "I AM THE WALRUS","YOUR MOTHER SHOULD KNOW","BABY YOU''RE A RICH MAN",and"HELLO/GOODBYE"I cannot take up for John Lennon''s prideful arrogance towards GOD,but he was a creative songwriter and "I AM THE WALRUS"shows his creativity.(I cannot take up for his drug use either)STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER also shows his songwriting skills.People who condemn THE BEATLES and John Lennon need to realize that many of their songs were based on REAL PLACES,EVENTS,and PEOPLE.(I AM THE WALRUS and STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER are 2 examples). To finish this review,I liked all the music and songs on this CD(Some I liked more, others not so much) and it is much better and fun to listen to than the forgettable stuff of today. If only the CD would load quicker.

This review applies to Sept 9, 2104 vinyl mono releases only. I''ve waited 35 years or more for new issues of pure analog Beatles on vinyl. No digital manipulation, or any manipulation, just music from original analog tapes to LP''s. After years and years of disappointing digital releases and digitally modified vinyl, I thought this day would never come. I actually gave up buying music for a 20 year span. Based on listening to these new all analog mono LP''s, I have found these Lp''s have very little noise, if any, sound fantastic, and the pure analog sound is as good or better sounding than original Capital/EMI/Apple releases, in my opinion. No harsh compressed sound, no 2 dimensional sound, no digitally remastered sound transferred to vinyl, and no more dashed hopes in DVD Audio and SACD. These LP''s sound fantastic.

Like many Beatles fans, I grew up listening to them in the 60''s. They made a violent and polarizing time in America more bearable. In the 60''s, I bought and played their LP''s until they were damaged beyond repair. I bought into digital music in the 80''s only to find that it paled in comparison to pure analog. I should have bought more pure analog LP''s while I had the chance, but, thought the medium was gone, whether I liked it or not. Finally I found vintage equipment (Sansui 6700 Receiver, Marantz Model 6300 Turntable, and JBL S312BE Speakers) and set out to spend mega money on EBAY for sealed analog LP''s from the 60''s and 70''s. Unfortunately, many albums made in the 70''s were made of cheap thin vinyl and were often warped or had defects/noise when new and right out of the package, but, I persevered and have a good collection of Beatles and other pure Analog LP''s and some 45''s.

You don''t have to spend Mega money, however, as these mono releases are superb in quality and sound. There is very little noise, often none between songs. The LP''s are flat as they are 180 grams, and most importantly these LP''s sound warm and beautiful. I just sat back, closed my eyes and let the music and harmonizing soothe my soul. I did not buy the box set for $375. I bought each individually. This along with a $40 reduction for applying for a credit card brought the total to about $250, and if you get a defective album, you can send it back instead of the whole box.

Remember though, "Let it Be" and "Abbey Road" are not included in the box set as they were only made in stereo. Capital US releases like "The Beatles Again" and "Beatles 65" won''t be there either, but, you will find those songs in these mono releases anyway.

Thank you Apple/EMI/Optimal Media (Germany) for giving audiophiles what they''ve wanted for so many years. You did good.

Magical Mystery Tour is a great album containing several of the Beatles’ finest songs. The record is upbeat, and the music is tight. My parents bought this album in the 1960s. We lived in London at the time and this album along with Pepper captures the feel of the ‘Swinging London’ era for me. It was an optimistic and exciting time and this was reflected in the music and the outrageous clothes. The album is Sgt. Pepper "Part 2" and arguably has stronger songs.

The album features several of the band’s 1967 singles, including the B sides. These include: “Hello, Goodbye,” “Strawberry Fields Forever,” “Penny Lane,” “Baby, You’re A Rich Man,” I Am the Walrus," and “All You Need Is Love.” It also includes Paul McCartney''s "The Fool on the Hill,” the music-hall throwback "Your Mother Should Know,” George Harrison''s "Blue Jay Way,” and the instrumental "Flying."

The record sounded similar to Pepper with its lush orchestral arrangements and use of classical musicians. David Mason plays the trumpet solo on Penny Lane. For thirty years, Mason was a professor of trumpet at the Royal College of Music. McCartney heard him play Bach''s Brandenburg Concerto on TV and invited him to play on Pepper and the Magical Mystery Tour.

Wikipedia claims that the album received underwhelming reviews from the American critics in the 1960s, something which I find hard to understand. There is a lot of great music on the record. Lennon-McCartney were at the peak of their powers and everything they touched was golden. Brian Wilson has said that successful songwriters often have a golden period in their careers when writing songs is easy and everything sounds great. This was their time. The album''s production is excellent, it was remastered by Giles Martin (George’s son).

Yes, everyone at least once in a lifetime has heard a song from this album. I bought the wax version I am more than somewhat dissatisfied, mainly because of the sound of the record I thought they would in fact revamp and inject more depth and joy to the record however songs like ''i am the walrus'', your mom should know, all you need is love sound terrible. Made think it was my machine but it wasn''t. It''s just the record.
In whichever way you might buy this it''s a totally recommendable album. It''s the Beatles for God''s sake.

I love the Beatles. If you love the Beatles, I love you too hahaha

I absolutely love this album just for the inclusion of "I am the walrus" and "Strawberry fields" and own multiple copies. I bought this reissue so I don''t have to use my more valuable copies or CD''s when I want to have a listen. My 3 star review does not have anything to do with the content of this album but more so the quality of the vinyl itself. Sound quality is good but the label is very off center and for the price of an album that has been released in multiple formats over the years I feel this should be the definitive edition (at least until the next re issue comes out). Also as a note the booklet is not attached inside the gatefold like the original. Once again, just some minor nit picking, but as these are being sold to people who most likely already own the album I think there should be better quality control.

I''ve had this album both on LP and CD since I was 15 years old. This was my first Beatles album; I''ve played it over and and have never grown tired of the music. I already had the sonically excellent firs MMT CD release from 1987 but thought that I would get the new enhanced CD reissue in order to I have the complete Beatles UK catalog on the new reissues. Thought the new CD reissue of MMT would sound better but I was wrong. To me both MMT CD issues sound about the same. If you have the 1987 CD issue of MMT save your money and don''t buy the new reissue.

Now, this is an album, which I can compare to early editions, because I have six of the songs included here, on original single vinyl copies. Therefore, I can be sure about what I am talking, for this vinyl remastering of the originals is what they call a “fake stereo” or “mock stereo”, as other reviewer said. For example, you can barely listen to the strings on “I am The Walrus” and the winds practically disappeared. One channel is higher ended than the other to give the (lousy) image of stereo separation … Some instruments are lost on the smoothness… I guess I am lucky to have the singles in a good condition so I still can enjoy those songs in magnificent monophonic… Therefore, I am compelled to write this review, given, unfortunately with no doubt, a two star rate for this 2009 vinyl remastered album on Capitol label, with ©2012, made in the U.E, and only for the impressiveness of the artwork, because the vinyl don’t deserve more than 1 star. It is never too much to write that the musical compositions, by themselves, deserve, by all means, a 5 stars rate, but I am reviewing this specific edition…

This is a strange one...the remixes are patchy and inconsistent, the overall production values here are so varied it sounds like it was done by several different producers. The bass is overprominent throughout, the drums still lie way back in the mix, unlike the recent Sgt Pepper remix which brought Ringo''s wonderful drumming to the fore, and as these songs were mostly done either side of, and in some cases during the recording of Sgt Pepper a better remix should have been possible. It is clumsy, lazy and a real missed opportunity to re discover this classic album, and it has been done a real injustice with this sloppy work. The music remains incredible, timeless and thought provoking, shame the same couldn''t be said for the remix !!. The best way to listen to this album is to hunt down the mono mix from the Beatles in Mono series, remember that George Martin did not believe stereo would take off and he lavished his attention on mono mixes. Sublime packaging though.

This review is for the 2009 remastered reissue from 2012. Let''s begin with the album - an absolute treasure. The history of this album is quite an interesting one. Originally a 6 track double EP in the UK (side A) released in conjunction with the bands 1967 film, the song listing was then extended to warrant a full LP release in the US with the addition of 5 1967 singles (side B). I really enjoy Side A and there are some great songs included such as ''The Fool on the Hill'' and ''I am the Walrus''; however, in my opinion, side B is just a revelation of timeless tracks and quite possible one of the strongest B sides of a Beatles album ever released. Concerning my order, I received the 2012 reissue with 2009 remastering. There are a couple of more recent UK pressings that have subsequently been released (a 2014 mono reissue and a 2017 DeAgostini reissue) so it''s worth checking which issue you receive in the post as the 2014 mono is a little ''rarer''. The album packaging is superb - gatefold sleeve, glossy cover, 24 page booklet, and a beautiful thick spine. The vinyl is also fantastic - 180g heavyweight vinyl without a mark or hair on. Now we come to the sticking point. So, I''ve read several reviews on amazon regarding the sound and production issues. On the one hand I can completely empathize with those who have the original albums or singles and the stereo mixes may sound a little ''off'' - especially when there is a £30 price tag attached. Growing up on a 1990s CD reissue, I can not say that I noticed the sound issue as prominently as others. I loved my music and the album will most certainly be on rotation in my house. The final point, and one that has become more prominent over the last 12 months, is the price. As I stated already, the price tag is around £30 at the moment, which is fairly high compared to the end of August last year when it was under £20. I''ve noticed vinyl prices in general increase significantly over the last 12 months. Whether this trend changes or not, only time can tell. Personally I would wait, with the hope that prices fall once again, however there is always the risk that prices continue to rise. In conclusion, I love the album, the packaging is superb, but the sound issues and price could be a deciding factor as to whether you buy this or not.

Unlike many i loved this album and its remastering. I listen to music for entertainment not to criticise. I had this album when it first was released and back then it lacked something which many albums back then lacked. Plus of course, our systems back then left a lot to be desired and often were mono decks or early stereograms. Many Beatle albums back then were in "pathetic" stereo, music on one channel and voices on the other. Remastering has, in my opinion, improved this album like so many of the era. I love it

There''s very little that can be said about the Beatles that hasn''t already be said and I guess that anyone buying this album will already know what a brilliant album this is. Other reviewers have offered opinions on the improved sound quality that the re-issues offer and I can''t really add to that. One thing that I particularly like about the new CD format is, however, the packaging of the albums themselves...rather than a cheap looking plastic box with inlays, this comes in a really nice cardboard gate-fold, booklet style cover and is, in that regard, quite reminiscent of the 12" format (only much smaller, obviously). Also there is a certain uniformity to the packaging across the entire back catalogue - every album from Please Please Me through to Let It Be (the White Album notwithstanding, for obvious reasons) share certain design features, so if you buy the full set they look great on the shelf
